    Senior Chun Mei Nickles tied the fourth-highest pole vault in USC history yesterday (April 21) as the Trojans' track and field team competed at the UC San Diego Triton Invitational and the Tiny Lister Invitational on the campus of CS Los Angeles.

    Nickles set a new PR with a jump of 12-5 1/2 (3.80m) at the UC San Diego Triton Invitational, tying Shannon Lewallen for the fourth-highest jump in school history.

    Senior William Denbo had a strong showing in the shot with a throw of 62-1 1/4 (18.93m) to finish fifth in the competition, less that two inches shorter than his previous best.

    Senior Noah Bryant threw the hammer 203-7 feet to place sixth, while sophomore Mike Curiel placed 24th with a new PR of 175-1 (53.37m).

    Freshman Ben Brown placed sixth in the men's triple jump with a career-best jump of 45-3 3/4 (13.81m).

    At CS Los Angeles, senior Chris Huddleston set a new PR in the 800m with a time of 1:52.24 to take second place.

    Also placing second in events at the Tiny Lister Invitational were freshman Myra Hasson in the 800m (2:19.35), senior Tara Davis-Quarrie in the 400m (55.59), freshman Emilie Winckel in the 400m IH (1:05.35) and freshman Marylin Anene in the high jump (5-1 3/4).

     

     

    Other Trojans establishing new personal bests were Putchong Dispanurat in the 400m IH (59.14) and freshman Jasmine Knight in the pole vault (9-6 1/4).
