    Trojans Also In Action At The Long Beach Invitational Saturday

    USC had many track and field athletes in action at the Long Beach Invitational held at Cerritos College today (April 19).

    For the men on the track, senior Terence Abram won his heat and finished third overall in the 100m dash with a season-best time of 10.69 (+0.5). It was his fastest 100m time since running 10.67 at the 2011 Pac-12 Championships. He also placed 19th in the 200m dash with a college PR of 21.94 (-1.8).

    Junior Myles Andrews ran in the 800m Invitational and placed sixth with a season-best time of 1:51.71. Running in the open 800m race, redshirt freshman Josh Galen had a time of 2:01.86 (110th), sophomore Andreas Spanos a time of 2:02.16 (114th) and sophomore Will Robinson a time of 2:07.37 (124th).

    Junior decathlete Jemal Williams won his heat and finished 24th overall in the men's 110m HH with a PR of 15.07 (+1.2).

    For the women on the track, redshirt junior Charity Bruce had a time of 25.77 (+2.4w) in the 200m dash. USC also had five women run in the 800m race with senior Lindsay Enright running 2:17.31 (86th), sophomore Katerina Berdousi 2:17.98 (94th), sophomore Natasha Strickland 2:18.54 (98th), redshirt freshman Lauren Grego a season-best 2:19.07 (108th) and sophomore Alyssa Reardon 2:29.61 (132nd).

     

     

    In the field events for the men, Williams came back to set a PR in the men's pole vault with a jump of 15-0.00/4.58m to tie for 28th. Freshman Khalil Jackson no heighted in the event.

    Sophomore Errin Baynes tied for seventh in the high jump with a clearance of 6-6.75/2.00m, while senior Doug Bogie tied for 12th with a jump of 6-4.75/1.95m and Williams cleared 6-2.75/1.90m for finish 24th.

    Redshirt sophomore Jovonte Slater finished 13th in the long jump with a leap of 22-7.25/6.89m (+0.0). Junior Jabre Millon finished 38th in the long jump with a best mark of 20-0.75/6.42m (-4.1).

    For the women in the field events, sophomore Felicia Horvath tied for 18th and senior Thea Weiss tied for 23rd in the pole vault. Both vaulters cleared 12-0.00/3.66m, the difference being misses.

    Freshman Amalie Iuel tied for 11th in the women's high jump with a clearance of 5-5.00/1.65m and redshirt sophomore Malia Cravens tied for 17th at 5-3.00/1.60m. Iuel also tied for 22nd in the long jump with a best jump of 17-8.00/5.38m (+0.0) and senior Oluwakemi Olonade finished 18th with a leap of 18-0.25/5.49m (+0.0). Junior Samantha Ojo placed 36th in the triple jump with a jump of 34-10.25/10.62m (-2.5).

    Also, redshirt sophomore Julia Tseng have a best throw in the javelin competition of 83-7/25.88m to finish 43rd.
