USC Wins Eight Events On The Final Day Of The Aztec Invitational|

USC track and field athletes won eight events, including a meet record in the 200m by Just'N Thymes and the second-farthest shot put in school history posted by Brittany Mann, during the final day of the Aztec Invitational hosted by San Diego State in San Diego, Calif. today (March 25).
USC opened the day on the track with a win from its women's 4x100m relay team of Destinee Brown, Zaria Francis, Ky Westbrook and Deanna Hill. The quartet stormed around the track with a time of 43.97 to capture the Aztec Invite title.
Dior Hall won the women's 100m hurdles with a time of 13.20 (+0.3), followed by Anna Cockrell in second at 13.31 (+0.3). Jasmyne Graham placed sixth in the 100m hurdles with a time of 13.72 (+0.3) and Alexa Harmon-Thomas was 14th at 14.75 (+2.6w).
Margaux Jones had to land a legal jump in her third attempt to reach the women's long jump Invite final, then jumped a best 19-10.75/6.06m in her fourth attempt to win the title. She edged teammate Madison Richards who had a jump of 19-9.00/6.02m to take second. Richards had an extremely steady series with all six jumps between 5.80 and 6.02 meters. Alexa Harmon-Thomas won the first flight and finished fifth overall with a PR of 18-9.75/5.73m).
Eric Sloan took just three jumps but it was enough to take second in the men's long jump Invite with a best mark of 24-10.50/7.58m. Dominic Smallwood placed third with a best jump of 24-1.75/7.36m and Jadon Joyner placed fifth with a PR of 22-8.75/6.93m. Former Trojan jumper Tyler Ruiz won the event with a meet record of 25-6.25 (7.78m).
T.J. Brock in his first college 100m race runs 10.40 (+0.8) to win the Aztec Invite title. Jadon Joyner ran 10.86 (+3.2s) to place 11th in the 100m dash.
Deanna Hill had a PR of 11.18 (+1.8) to take second in the women's 100m Invite. Her time moves her from ninth to seventh on USC's all-time list and is the second-fastest time in the country among marks entering this weekend. Zaria Francis ran 11.73 (+2.3w) to take sixth and Madisen Richards ran 12.49 (-0.5) to finish 17th in the 100m dash.
Kyra Constantine won her heat and placed 9th in the women's 800m Invite with a time of 2:14.03. Kamryn Weber had a time of 2:18.77 to finish 18th and Rachel Glynn a time of 2:22.46 to finish 20th in the women's 800m.
Jadon Joyner placed eighth in the men's triple jump Invite with a PR of 44-7.00 (13.59m). In her first college 400m hurdles race, Jasmyne Graham wins her heat and places fourth overall with a time of 1:02.38.
Brittany Mann won the women's shot put Invite with a best mark of 56-8.50 (17.28m). That throw moved her from sixth to second on USC's all-time list in the event. Tanya Sapa took second with a best shot put of 55-3.75 (16.86m). That is her best-best career shot put mark.
Cameron Pettigrew won the women's 200m Invite with a PR of 23.66 (+1.1), followed by Anna Cockrell in second at 23.80 (.791) and Amalie Iuel in third at 23.80 (.794). Dior Hall was fourth in the 200m with a time of 23.89 (+1.1), Kayla Richardson was sixth with a time of 24.08 (+1.1), Ky Westbrook was eighth at 24.31 (+1.1) and Alexa Harmon-Thomas 30th at 26.44 (+0.8).
Just'N Thymes won the men's 200m with a blazing time of 20.24 (+2.1w), just over the legal wind limit. It tops the best time in the country entering this weekend and sets the meet record. It was also his fastest any condition time of his career. Ricky Morgan Jr. placed third with a time of 21.07 (+2.1w) in the men's 200m dash.
Michael Gonzalez had no height in the pole vault. He entered at 15-1.50 (4.61m) and missed on his three attempts.
David Sellens had a PR of 181-10 (55.41m) to place fifth and Jason Kim had a mark of 142-2 (43.33m) to lace 13th in the men's hammer throw Invite.
Matthew Katnik placed second in the men's shot put Invite, first among collegians, with a mark of 60-10.75 (18.56m).
Nick Ponzio has a best throw of 165-4 (50.40m) in the men's discus throw Invite to place sixth.
