The USC track and field team pulled out of the Northridge Invitational on March 17 due to heavy rains and winds, but the hammer throwers competed in the first day of the meet on March 16.

Fellow redshirt senior Jade Niemeyer placed third with a throw of 191-2 (58.26m) and redshirt sophomore Lauren Chambers was fifth with a mark of 183-4 (55.87m). Finishing sixth at the meet was redshirt senior Tamara Baumann with a throw of 171-1 (52.16m), followed by redshirt junior Ashley Pyka in eighth (168-6) and freshman Alexandra Collatz in ninth (165-7). Also competing for the Women of Troy were redshirt junior Farren Benjamin (127-6) and redshirt sophomore Stephanie Hoffer (126-7).

Redshirt junior Eric Stein placed fifth in the men's hammer throw competition with a season-best mark of 166-11 (50.88m), while redshirt sophomore Beau Falgout finished 14th with a throw of 140-3 (42.75m).
