    USC Continues Winning Ways At The Start Of The Track Season

    The USC track and field team continued it winning ways in the early season by taking home eight titles at the CS Northridge Invitational in Northridge, Calif. on March 15-16.

    Junior Remington Conatser got things started on Friday, March 15 by posting the top collegiate mark in the men's hammer throw competition for the third time in three meets, this time with a season-best mark of 206-7 (62.97m). Senior teammate Beau Falgout was 10th with a mark of 138-2 (42.16m).

    In the women's hammer throw competition on Friday, sophomore Alexandra Collatz took second place with a PR of 174-2 (53.10m). Senior Farren Benjamin also had a PR with a throw of 147-4 (44.92m) to finish ninth, while freshman Tera Novy was 11th with a throw of 128-6 (39.16m).

    Junior Aleec Harris also won the 110m hurdles for the fourth time in four starts, today with a time of 14.24. Sophomore Allen Williams was fifth with a time of 15.16. Senior hurdler Reggie Wyatt won the 800m race with a season-best time of 1:54.60, while senior Eric Battles placed fourth with a time of 1:55.35.

    The USC women's team won five events. First, junior Jessica Davis won the 100m dash with a time of 11.76, while junior Jenna Puterbaugh took second with a time of 11.84. Sophomore Melia Cox won the 100m HH with a season-best time of 13.74, while junior Lauren Blackburn took second in her season debut with a time of 13.88. Freshman Katerina Berdousi had a season-best 1500m time of 4:34.08 to win today, while sophomore Kira Soderstrom was fourth with a time of 4:51.52 in her first 1500m race of the season.



    USC also won the 4x200m and 4x400m relays. The 1600m relay team of sophomore Akawkaw Ndipagbor, sophomore Vanessa Jones, Puterbaugh and junior Ashley Liverpool posted a season-best time of 3:40.08.
