THIS YEAR: Redshirt sophomore Shea Wickland has the potential to be one of USC's top distance runners. She posted the fourth-fastest 10000m time in USC history during her first season of running track.
2009: Had a strong first season of running track for USC, posting the second-fastest 5000m and 10000m times by a Trojans during the 2009 season. Was approached by the track and field program to join the team after she was seen running on campus and after following her results at a couple of local races. Won the 10000m race with a time of 36:16.00 at the Fullerton Invitational on March 7 which ranks fourth all-time by a Trojan. Had a season-best time of 17:34.99 to win the 5000m race at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational on April 4 which ranks seventh all-time by a Trojan. Placed third in the 5000m race with a time of 17:37.51 at the USC-UCLA Dual Meet on May 2. Was sick and could not compete at the Pac-10 Championships.
HIGH SCHOOL: Wickland is a 2007 graduate of Incline HS in Incline Village, Nev. Was named Co-MVP of the Incline women's tennis team her senior season.
PERSONAL: Shea was born on Dec. 1, 1989 in Lake Tahoe, Calif.
