SACSeveral USC athletes register PRs and season bests 03/23/2012 Trojans Erdelyi, Minderler, Szabo & Thompson Post Wins At Trojan InvitationalMore All-Americans & Olympic hopefuls to be featured prominently tomorrow THIS SEASON: Redshirt junior Eric Stein enters the season as USC's top returning hammer thrower and should team with freshman Daniel Szabo to keep the event as a strength for the Trojans. 2011: Set a PR of 182-8 (55.69m) in placing third in the hammer throw at the USC-UCLA Dual Meet on April 30. His best throw was his final attempt of the day. Competed at the Pac-10 Championships in the hammer throw and just missed scoring, placing ninth with a throw of 179-5 (54.69m). His top throw on the day came in his first three throws which advanced him to the finals, but he could not better his mark. He was one of two competitors to go clean on all six throws, posting a consistent effort between 52.68 and 54.69 meters. 2010: Competed in the hammer throw for USC and had a best mark of 173-8 (52.93m) to finish second in the Dual Meet on May 1. 2009: Redshirted his first season at USC. HIGH SCHOOL: Attended St. John Bosco High. PERSONAL: Eric was born on July 9, 1990 in Lakewood, Calif...He is the co-founder of the Scuba Club at USC...Lists Chuck Norris as his favorite actor, teammate Beau Falgout as his favorite musician and Top Gun, Cool Runnings and Sandlot as his favorite movies....Is a Human Performance/Social Sciences major with an emphasis in Economics...Also minoring in Consumer Behavior...His father, brother and several aunts and uncles totaling 10 also attended USC...Is a volunteer at the Science Center.
