    THIS SEASON: Redshirt junior Jekabs Sliede is one of the Trojans' returning hammer throwers that will be asked to step up this season with the graduation of All-American Adam Midles.

    2007: Set a PR in the hammer of 173-9 (52.96m) at the USC-UCLA Dual Meet on April 28.

    2006: Had a season best of 160-5 in the hammer and 156-10 in the javelin.

    2005: Served a redshirt season.

    HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Riga State Gymnasium No. 1.

    PERSONAL: Jekabs was born on July 27, 1985. He is a Business Administration major at USC.
