For good measure, he added a second place in the 200m with a time of 20.97. Unfortunately, that was the first and last day he was healthy. At the Pac-10 Championships, he blazed to a 10.43 time to win the preliminaries, but pulled up at the finish line and had to pull out of the competition. He attempted to run at the West Regional, but could only run a 10.69 time and did not advance to the finals.

He was also named the Pac-10 Track and FIeld Newcomer of the Year. Placed seventh in the 200m race at the NCAA West Regional in Eugene, Ore. with a time of 21.47 and was part of USC's winning 4x100m relay team with a season-best time of 39.50. Was a three-time winner at the Pac-10 Championships at Stanford from May 12-13, winning the 100m with a wind-aided time of 10.20, the 200m with a PR of 20.56 and the second leg of the 4x100m relay team which was victorious with a time of 39.66...he became the second consecutive Trojan to take the conference sprint double as Philip Francis won both the 100m and 200m dashes at the 2006 conference championship. Rashad also won the 100m (PR of 10.33), 200m (21.04) and was part of the winning 4x100m relay team at the USC-UCLA Dual Meet no April 28 won by the Trojans.
