THIS YEAR: Junior Jenna Puterbaugh returns from a season slowed by injuries, but figures to return to being one of the most valuable and versatile runners on the team. She was a key member of the 4x100m relay team which earned all-American status and posted the fourth-fastest time in USC history in 2011.
2012: Had a season-best 200m time of 23.92 to tie for sixth at the Trojan Invitational on March 24. Ran a 200m at the USC-UCLA Dual Meet and placed fifth with a time of 24.41.
2011: Posted a season-best 100m dash of 11.91 to place fifth at the Trojan Invitational on March 19. Had her best 200m time of 23.74 to finish second at the Trojan Quad-Meet on April 2. She stepped for the team to run the 400m dash and had the fastest 400m time by a Trojan in 2011 of 54.63 on April 22. Placed third in the 400m race at the USC-UCLA Dual Meet on May 1 with a time of 55.10...Also placed third in the 200m dash with a time of 23.85 and ran the third leg for the winning 4x100m relay team which had a time of 43.96. Placed 10th at the Pac-10s in the 200m dash with a time of 23.85, one spot out of qualifying for the finals...Also was part of the winning 4x100m relay (43.83) and anchored the sixth-place 4x400m relay (3:40.29). Ran 23.93 in the first round of the 200m at the NCAA Preliminary Rounds in Eugene, Ore. to advance to the quarterfinals, but finished 21st with a time of 24.20...the 4x100m relay ran a time of 44.07 to place fourth and advance to the NCAA Championships. Then earned All-America honors with Loudia Laarman, Aareon Payne and Jessica Davis in the 4x100m relay as they placed third with a season-best time of 43.42 at the NCAA Championships...the time was the third-fastest ever at the NCAA finals and the fourth-fastest all-time by a Trojan quartet.
High School: Puterbaugh is a 2010 graduate of Santa Fe Christian High in Solano Beach, Calif. She placed fourth in the 200m and eighth in the 100m dashes at the 2010 CIF State Championships. She has posted best times of 11.68 in the 100m and 23.67 in the 200m races. Puterbaugh won the California Indoor Invitational 55m title in Fresno, Calif. in February by running 7.02 to defeat the defending California state champion in the 100m, Valexia Droughn of Oxnard, Calf. Puterbaugh grew up playing soccer and didn't start running track until her freshman season and continues to make big improvements each season.
