THIS YEAR: Senior Stenn Parton focused on the javelin last season for USC, after coming to USC as a decathlete.
2008: Had a season-best throw of 180-8 (55.08m) in the javelin at the Texas Relays on April 5. Placed third in the javelin with a throw of 172-0 in the USC-UCLA Dual Meet to earn USC a point. Competed at the Pac-10 Championships, but did not advance out of the preliminaries.
2007: Had an eye-opening sophomore season, breaking into USC's all-time top 10 javelin list with the ninth-farthest throw in school history. Won the javelin competition at the USC-UCLA Dual Meet on April 28 with his throw of 197-8 (60.24m), which put him in the USC record books...prior to this competition, his previous best mark had been 172-0. Came in 11th in the javelin at the Pac-10 Championships at Stanford on May 13 with a throw of 171-7 (52.31m).
2006: Began his collegiate career at Point Loma Nazarene University.
HIGH SCHOOL: Parton prepped at Santa Barbara High...Was a California All-Star and All-CIF in water polo.
PERSONAL: Stenn was born on March 18, 1986 in Santa Barbara, Calif...Would like to pursue a career as a real-estate developer...Hobbies include surfing, riding scooters and ribon dancing...Favorite song is Amazing Grace.
