THIS YEAR: Junior Oluwakemi Olonade had a good first season of jumping at USC and is poised to crack into the Trojans' all-time top 10 in the triple jump, currently three inches outside the list.
2012: Olonade had a PR of 40-9.50 (12.43m) in her first meet of the season at the Rossi Relays on Feb. 25. That mark temporarily moved her into 10th place on USC's all-time triple jump list, but she was bumped to 11th after Melia Cox had the eighth-farthest jump. Placed fourth in the triple jump with a leap of 40-3.50 (12.28m) at the USC-UCLA Dual Meet on April 29. Placed 11th in the triple jump with a wind-aided jump of 40-6.75 (12.36m) at the Pac-12 Championships in Eugene, Ore. Took 38th place at the NCAA Preliminary Rounds in Austin, Texas with a triple jump of 39-5.00 (12.01m).
HIGH SCHOOL: Olonade graduated in 2010 from Beverly Hills High in Beverly Hills, Calif. She had a best triple jump of 38-4.50 to win the open triple jump competition at the 2010 Arcadia Invitational.
PERSONAL: Oluwakemi was born on Aug. 18, 1993 in London, England...Is the child of Kehinde Floyd and has two siblings, James and Temi...Her hobbies include cooking, eating and sleeping...Lists Chris Brown, Rihanna and YG as her mucical artists...Her community service work includes Teenline, volunteering at Cedars Sinai Hospital and working on the Children's Marathon...Says her sports heroes are Serena Williams and Allyson Felix...Is a Sociology major at USC...After graduating from USC would like to become a famous journalist like Oprah.
