    THIS YEAR: Senior Elizabeth Olear showed glimpses last season of how good she can be when healthy. In 2010 she is focusing exclusively on the 400m race and relays.

    2009: Had a PR of 53.40 in the 400m dash to place second at the USC-UCLA Dual Meet on May 2. Also ran the third leg in USC's winning 4x400m relay effort against the Bruins. Placed seventh in the 400m race at the Pac-10 Championships with a time of 54.11. Ran a 54.94 time in the 400m at the West Regionals, the 11th-fastest time, but did not advance to finals. Helped USC place second in the 4x400m at the Regional with a time of 3:34.22, running the first leg. Earned All-American honors as the leadoff runner on USC's 4x400m team which placed sixth at the NCAA Championships with a time of 3:32.51. They also had a qualifying time in the semifinals of 3:31.57 which was the sixth-fastest time in USC history. Individually, she advanced to the semifinals in the 400m, but her time of 53.86 did not advance her to the finals.

    2008: Had a best 200m time of 24.57 at the Tiny Lister Invitational on April 26 and a best 400m time of 54.36 at the Dual Meet on May 3. Ran the leadoff leg for USC's 4x400m relay team which placed fourth at the West Regional with a time of 3:37.13 and fourth at the Pac-10 Championships with a time of 3:38.04. Also ran the first leg for the 4x400m relay team at the NCAA Championships which posted a time of 3:35.95, but did not advance.

    2007: Won the 100m dash at the Ben Brown Invitational in Fullerton, Calif on March 10, just edging out teammate Jessica Onyepunuka. Took 3rd in the 100m dash in the USC-UCLA Dual Meet on April 28.

    HIGH SCHOOL: Elizabeth was one of the top sprinters in the state of California while prepping at Louisville High in Woodland Hills, where she maintained a 3.9 GPA and was a National Honor Society student...Selected as a High School All-American in 2003, 2005 and 2006, a USATF Jr. National All-American in 2005 and 2006, a USA Today All-American in 2006, a Track & Field News All-American in 2003 and 2006 and a Dyestat Elite 100 runner all four seasons while at Louisville High...In her high school senior year she placed second in the state in the 100m in 2006 with a time of 11.63 and second in the state in the 200m with a time of 23.40, after placing third as a freshman and second as a junior.....She was a CIF SS Div. 4 Champion in the 100m three times, the 200m twice, the 4x100m once and the 4x400m once...Holds the Louisville records in the 100m (11.33), 200m (23.36), the long jump (17-8 3/4), 4x100m relay (47.63), the 4x200m relay (1:41.09) and the 4x400m relay (3:49.31 which is a Division 4 Southern Section record set in 2006)...Placed 5th at the USFT Jr. Championships in the 100m with a time of 11.33 to make the U.S. Jr. team...In 2005, Olear was a member of the U.S. Jr. national team relay pool to the Pan-American Junior Championships in Windsor, Ontario, Canada....In her senior year in 2006, she was also a member of the USA Jr. Team, running the third leg in the sprint relay quartet that holds the current Junior world record of 43.29 set in Eugene, Ore. en route to Beijing, China for the world Junior IAAF Championship...While in Beijing, she ran the third leg in the prelims and the finals at the championship where the U.S. relay team finished first with a time of 43.49 to win the gold medal.

    PERSONAL: Elizabeth was born on Nov. 16, 1988 in Lagos, Nigeria...She started running at the age of eight...has an older sister, Laura, and twin younger brothers, John and Jude...Is interested in sports reporting and has interned for KCAL/KCBS, worked for Anneberg TV News and USC Trojans All-Access...She is majoring in Kinesiology, Pre-Med at USC...Is a Dean's List student and SAAC representative.
