USC Track Team To Compete At 3 Meets This Week

THIS YEAR: Redshirt freshman D.J. Morgan is working this spring with the USC sprinters. Competed in the fall as running back for the football team, playing in 10 games and finishing third on the team in attempts (42) and in rushing yards (163). Started at tailback twice, including the opener vs. Minnesota when he totaled a team-leading 70 yards on 18 carries.
2011: Did not compete in track and field. Was a redshirt running back on the football team in the fall of 2010. He was named the USC Service Team Offensive Player of the Year.
HIGH SCHOOL: Morgan prepped at Taft High in Woodland Hills, Calif. Won the 2009 California state 110m HH title and placed second in the 300m IH as a junior. He also won the 2009 L.A. City 110m HH title. In the summer of 2009, he won the 110m HH at the IAAF World Youth Cmampionships in Italy in 13.28 (the No. 5 all-time performance). In 2008, he won the L.A. City titles in the 100m, 110m HH and 300m IH. He had bests of 10.6 in the 100m, 21.8 in the 200m, 37.6 in the 300m IH and 22-9 in the long jump.
PERSONAL: Morgan was born on Jan. 3, 1992...He is a Public Policy, Management and Planning major at USC...his initials stand for Dale Jr.
