THIS YEAR: Matlock is one of the top quartermilers in the Pac-10. 2003: Matlock had a best of 46.04 last season. 2002: Matlock came in at midseason and suffered through some minor injuries that hampered his development ... He still ran the team's top 400m time, a 47.30 at the Stanford Relays ... He also won the 400m at the UCLA dual meet with a time of 47.68 ... He qualified for the Pac-10s, but did not finish his prelim due to injury. JUNIOR COLLEGE: Matlock spent one season at Bakersfield JC, where he was an All-American with a best time of 46.36 ... He won the 400m at the 2001 U.S. Junior Nationals with a time of 46.37. HIGH SCHOOL: Matlock prepped at Stockdale High in Bakersfield where he was the 2000 California 400m champ ...
