    THIS YEAR: Senior Katalin Mate is a transfer from Auburn, who is a versatile thrower who can help the Trojans in the discus, shot and javelin.

    College: Attended Auburn for three seasons and posted marks that rank in the top five all-time in Auburn history in three different events: discus, shot, javelin. Has career bests of 178-7 in the discus, 48-11 1/2 in the shot and 151-8 in the javelin. 2008 -- Placed fourth in the discus at the 2008 SEC Championships with a throw of 161-4 and scored in the shot put with a mark of 46-4 1/4 to take eighth. She also competed in the javelin and just missed scoring, with a 10th place finish. Threw the discus at the 2008 Mideast Regional and placed 20th with a throw of 152-7. 2007 -- Saw limited action due to injury. Placed fourth in the discus at the SEC championships and competed in the javelin and shot put at the SEC meet. Placed ninth in the discus at the Mideast Regional with a throw of 159-10. 2006 -- Reached the finals in the discus at the NCAA Championships, placing 11th with a mark of 157-2. Had a season-best throw of 173-10 to take third at the Mideast Regional. At the SEC Championships placed third in the javelin, fourth in the discus and sixth in the shot put.

    High School: Attended Tevan Andor HS in Hungary. Competed in the discus at the World Junior Championships (2002) and the European Junior Championships (2003 & 2005).

    Personal: Katalin was born on March 8, 1984 in Bekescsaba, Hungary...Likes to ride horses...Is a Fine Arts, Graphic Design major at USC...Her brother, Gabor, was a three-time outdoor All-American (1999-01) and two-time NCAA Champion (1999-00) for Auburn in the discus.
