    USC Wins 11 Events On the Final Day Of The Trojan Invitational

    Boyd wins twice and Novy and Olonade post school all-time top 10 marks

    THIS YEAR: Junior Loudia (LEW-dee-uh) Laarman is one of USC's top sprinters and leadoff leg on USC's two-time All-American 4x100m relay team. She is the Alberta Provincial junior record-holder in the 50m and 100m dashes.

    2012: Posted her best 200m time of the season of 24.11 at the Trojan Invitational on March 24. Had a time of 11.66 in the 100m dash to tie for second at the USC-UCLA Dual Meet on April 29...also took third in the 200m (24.19) and first as part of the 4x100m relay team (43.95). Ran a wind-aided PR of 11.62 in the semifinals of the 100m dash at the Pac-12 Championships in Eugene, Ore. on May 12...the next day she finished seventh with a time of 11.66...was 14th in the 200m with a time of 24.11...also ran on the second-place 4x100m relay (44.16) and the sixth-place 4x400m relay (3:41.07). Ran the leadoff leg for USC's sixth-place 4x100m relay team at the NCAA West Preliminary Rounds in Austin, Texas. Earned All-America honors as the relay team finished seventh at the NCAA Championships on June 9 with a time of 44.24. They ran a season-best time of 43.94 in the semifinals on June 6.

    2011: Set a 200m PR of 24.05 in placing seventh in the University/Open race at Mt. SAC on April 15. Placed third in the 100m dash at the USC-UCLA Dual Meet on May 1 and fourth in the 200m dash...Also ran the leadoff leg for the winning 4x100m relay which posted a time of 43.96...Also helped capture a Pac-10 title in the 4x100m by running the leadoff leg for the team which posted a 43.84 time. Finished 15th at the Pac-10 Championships in the 100m (11.72) and 200m (24.08). Had a wind-legal PR of 11.62 in the 100m at the NCAA Preliminary Rounds in Eugene, Ore. to advance to the NCAA quarterfinals, but had the 15th best quarterfinals time of 11.75 and did not advance to the NCAA Championships...Again ran leadoff for the 4x100m relay team which ran 44.07 to place fourth and advance to the NCAA Championships. In the semifinals, USC's quartet posted a time of 43.59 to advance to the finals. Laarman lead off in the finals and helped USC to a season-best time of 43.42 to place third at the NCAA Championships and earn All-America honors...USC's time was the fourth-fastest in school history and the third-fastest ever by a USC women's team at the NCAA Championships.

    High School: Laarman attended Winston Churchill High in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada. Competed at the 2010 IAAF World Junior Championships in Moncton, Canada and placed seventh in the 100m dash with a time of 11.81 into a 0.7 wind and ran anchor for Canada's 4x100m relay team which placed sixth with a time of 44.84. Laarman reached the women's 100m final by running a PR of 11.64 in the preliminary rounds and then posting a time of 11.73 in the semifinals. She was a three-time Provincial and National Champion for Canada. She is the Alberta Provincial Junior Record-Holder in the 100m with a time of 11.64 and the 60m record-holder with a time of 7.41. She also broke the Alberta Junior record in the 50m at the 2010 Knights of Columbus Indoor Games with a time of 6.48. Laarman had been a key member of the Canadian Youth relay efforts where she won a bronze in the 4x100m relay at the 2007 World Youth Championships, a bronze medal in the 4x100m relay at the 2008 Commonwealth Youth Games, and a gold medal in the 4x100m at the 2009 Canada Summer Games. Individually, she placed fourth in the 100m at the 2008 Commonwealth Games, seventh in the 100m at the 2009 Pan-American Games.
