04/21/2012 Nellum Posts NCAA-Leading 400m; Stewart & Brown Go 1-2 in 200m At Mt. SACHughes suffers left hamstring injury 2012: DeYoung will add depth to the distance group during her redshirt freshman season. 2011: DeYoung redshirted her first year at USC. Competed on USC's cross country team in the fall and made great strides throughout the season. Was USC's third finisher at the Pac-12 Championships with a 6K time of 22:43, just off her PR. Set her 6K PR of 22:40 in finishing 22nd at the CS Northridge Invitational. HIGH SCHOOL: DeYoung is a 2010 graduate of J. Serra High. Placed 14th at the CIF State Division IV Cross Country Championships (5K) with a time of 18:50 to help lead the team to a second-place finish. Posted a time of 19:20 at the CIF Southern Section 3-mile race to place fifth in her heat and 14th overall. Took 10th place with a time of 19:33 to help lead J. Serra to a second-place finish at the Stanford Cross Country Invitational in Palo Alto, Calif. Had a 5K best of 18:44 to placed ninth at the CIF Finals held at Mt. SAC. Has a best 3-mile time of 18:26 and a best 1-mile time of 5:19. Was the J. Serra cross country MVP for three seasons. Was a member of the National Honor Society and the California Scholarship Federation. PERSONAL: DeYoung was born on February 28, 1991 in Laguna Nigel, CA...She is from Dana Point, CA...She is a Psychology major at USC...She enjoys going to the beach and skiing during her free time...Her brother, Scott DeYoung is a current member of USC's track team and her father also attended USC...Her favorite T.V. show is Friends...She is a member of the National Honor Society...She received the 2011 Most Improved Cross Country Athlete Award.
