THIS YEAR: Redshirt senior sprinter Just'N Thymes is anxious to get back in action after a leg injury forced him to miss last season. He transfered to USC from Riverside City College in January of 2015.
2016: Missed the entire outdoor season with a leg injury. Ran in one 60m (6.77) and one 200m (21.30) race in the indoor season before being shut down for the season.
2015: Despite not having the Fall semester of training with the Trojans, Thymes had a strong season. He set his wind-legal 200m PR of 20.46 (-0.1) in taking sixth at the Florida Relays on April 3. He finished third in the event at the Pac-12 Championships with a time of 20.75 (-0.1), behind teammates Andre De Grasse and BeeJay Lee. Those three runners along with Bryan Mercado teammed up to win the 4x100m title at the conference meet with a time of 39.17. Thymes advanced to the NCAA West Regional in the 200m and despite having the 12th-fastest time of 20.87 (-0.1) and running in the only heat with a headwind, he had the fourth non-automatic qualifying time, with the top three advancing. His season-best 100m time was 10.37 (+0.4) run at the Jim Click Shootout on April 11. Was fourth in the 100m at the Dual Meet (10.41) and 10th at the Pac-12 Championships (10.59). Ran the third leg for USC's 4x100m relay which posted the second-fastest time in USC history of 38.75 to place fourth at the NCAA Championships on June 12 and earn All-America honors.
BEFORE USC: Thymes was an All-American sprinter at Riverside City College. Thymes finished second in the 100m and 200m at the 2014 CCCAA State Men's Track and Field Championships to help lead Riverside CC to its sixth title in seven seasons. Thymes has a 100m best of 10.18 and a 200m legal best of 20.61. He also ran a wind-aided time of 20.42 in the preliminaries of the 200m dash at the 2014 Southern California Junior College Championships and went on to win the 200m with a wind-aided time of 20.55 and capture the 100m title with a time of 10.19. Thymes had a 200m dash time of 20.61 to win the title at the 2013 USA Junior National Championships in Des Moines, Ia. He went on to represent the USA at the Pan-American games in Colombia. Earned Dean's List honors his sophomore year at Riverside CC.
HIGH SCHOOL: Thymes is a 2012 graduate from Hamilton HS in Chandler, Ariz. As a senior he placed fourth in the 100m, third in the 200m, third in the 4x100m and second in the 4x400m races at the Arizona Division I State Championships. He won the 200m at the Arizona Meet of Champions. Thymes won the long jump with a leap of 23-5.00 at the 2011 Arizona Division I State Championships.
PERSONAL: Just'N was born on January 24, 1994 in Los Angeles, Calif...His parents are Joyce and Johnny and he has three siblings, Tranisha, Johnny II and Jamar...Likes to play video games and listen to music in his spare time....List his favorite actor as Will Smith, favorite musical artists as Tupac, Drake and Eminem and favorite movie as Space Jam....Says his sports hero is Goku from Dragonball Z because he sacrifices himself for the lives of others....Lists his favorite foods as barbeque ribs and catfish...Someday would like to travel to Hawai'i and Tokyo...His goal after USC is to run professionally...Is majoring in Sociology at USC.
