THIS YEAR: Senior All-American Nakiya Johnson is a team co-captain and one of the top quarter-milers in the nation.
2002: Johnson fit in quite nicely at USC last season after spending her first two years at Texas ... She won the Pac-10 400m Championship in a season-best 52.29 ... Had one of the top 400m marks in the nation heading into the NCAAs, but ran 52.60 in the prelims and did not advance to the finals ... She bounced back to run well on the 1600m relay squad that took eighth in a USC season-best 3:32.82 ... Ran 52.36 to take second at the UCLA dual meet ... HIGH SCHOOL: Johnson was a prep All-American at Ayala High in Pomona, Calif. ...
