THIS YEAR: All-American Dawid Jaworski leads one of the best jumps corps in the country in 2003. He could challenge for the NCAA title.

2002: The consistent Jaworski came up big in his junior season, taking second at the NCAAs with a school-record-tying jump of 7-4 1/2 (2.25) ... He lost then NCAA title only on number of misses ... That mark matched Anthony Caire's record set in 1983 ... He became the first high jump All-American at USC since Caire and Troy's highest finisher in the event at the NCAAs since Larry Hollins took second in 1971 ... He was also the runner up at the Pac-10s with a jump of 7-0 1/2 (2.25) ... He won the high jump at the UCLA dual meet for the second year in a row, reaching a height of 6-10 1/4.

2001: Jaworski had an outstanding first season at Troy, showing remarkable consistency ... Of his first eight competitions, he won five, took second twice and third another time, never jumping below seven feet ... Finished third at the Pac-10s with a season-best 7-3 ... Took 15th at the NCAAs with a jump of 6-10 1/4.

PRIOR TO USC: Jaworski was a member of the Polish National Team and the Polish junior champion in the high jump prior to enrolling at USC. His best mark prior to USC was 7-3 3/4.

PERSONAL: Dawid was born on Jan. 31, 1979 in Gorzow, Poland ... He is an international relations major at USC.
