THIS YEAR: Redshirt sophomore Gerad Herkey begins his second season of competition as a distance runner for the Trojans.

2007: Had an impressive Fall competing for the Men of Troy. Injured throughout the track season and redshirted.

2006: Had bests of 4:03.97 in the 1500m and 10:10.85 in the 3000m steeplechase. His 3000mSC time was the best for a Trojan runner this season.

HIGH SCHOOL: Herkey prepped at BellarmineJefferson High in Glendale, Calif...Advanced to the Division IV final in the 1600m with a time of 4:21.87, which shattered the 13-year Bell-Jeff reocrd of 4:26...Qualified for the CIF State Cross Country Championships where he finished 12 with a time of 16:38.

PERSONAL: Gerad was born on July 16, 1987 in Glendale, Calif...He is a Policy, Planning and Development major at USC. Was a Dean's List student in the 2007 Fall.
