THIS YEAR: Junior Herb Dew begins his first season as a high jumper for USC after transferring from Glendale Community College in Arizona. He has jumped 7-3.00 before and should challenge the USC top 10 list in the event.

BEFORE USC: Dew competed at Glendale Community College in Arizona for two seasons where he earned an associate degree in art. He placed third with a jump of 6-11 (2.11m) and helped his team finish seventh at the 2012 NJCAA Division I Championships on May 15. Set a PR of 7-3.00 (2.21m) at the Glendale Invite on Feb. 11, 2012. Had a PR in the long jump of 22-7.25 (6.89m) at the ACCAC Scottsdale on March 23.

HIGH SCHOOL: Dew is a 2010 graduate of Liberty High in Peoria, Ariz. He was tha Arizona state champion in the high jump and triple jump in 2010...he won the high jump at 6-8, the triple jump with a leap of 45-11 and placed fifth in the long jump at 21-7.50. Also competed on the basketball team.

PERSONAL: Herb was born on April 26, 1992 in Detroit, Mich...His mother is Laverta Dew and he has two sibblings, Vern Gwynn and Cordaro Dew...In his spare time he likes to play basketball and go dancing...Was known as a very talented rapper in his high school days, performing under the name of Spotlight...His favorite actor is Nevin Hart, favorite musician is Chris Brown and favorite movie is All About the Benjamins...His favorite food is chicken....Lists his sports hero as Jesse Williams because he is a beast at the high jump...After USC would like to continue to high jump and become a coach...He is a Human Performance major at USC.
