THIS YEAR: Senior Desmond Hamilton battled through leg injuries in his first season for USC and looks this season to show what he is capable of with a return to health.

2008: In his first season at USC after transfering from Rider, had a season-best long jump of 24-9 3/4 (7.56m) to win the Dual Meet on May 3. Also placed third in the 100m dash at the Dual Meet with a time of 10.69. Did not compete at the Pac-10 Championships due to injury, but tried to jump at the West Regional and placed 14th with a best of 23-1 3/4.

BEFORE USC: Had two successful seasons for the Rider University track and field team. Was the IC4A champion in the long jump. Was All-Regional in the long jump and MAAC champion in the long jump. Has best of 25-8 in the long jump, 10.53 in the 100m and 21.42 in the 200m.

HIGH SCHOOL: Hamilton prepped at Pennsauken HS in New Jersey.

PERSONAL: Desmond was born on Oct. 1, 1986 in Pennsauken, N.J.....Likes going to the beach, dancing and listening to music...Lists his favorite actor as Denzel Washington, his favorite musicial artist as Al Green, favorite movie Man on Fire and favorite television show as Seinfeld...He is an Accounting major at USC.
