    USC's Track & Field Team To Compete At 3 Meets This Week

    Trojans to be at Cal, Stanford and San Diego

    THIS YEAR: Junior Viktor Fajoyomi enters the season as one of USC's top high jumpers, long jumpers and triple jumpers, but he is also expected to compete in the decathlon this season. He ranks just outside of the USC top 10 in the high jump.

    2012: Had a season-best high jump of 6-8.75 (2.05m) to place second at the Dual Meet on April 29. Also placed fifth in the triple jump (46-8.75), 10th in the long jump (20-10.50) and fourth in the javelin throw (159-11), missing out by four feet of scoring in his first attempt at the javelin as a collegian. Posted season best in the triple jump (46-10.25) and long jump (23-1.25) at the Claremont Relays on Feb. 25. Finished 16th in the HJ at the Pac-12 Championships with a clearance of 6-7.0. Also was 21st in the long jump (22-4.25) and fouled out in the triple jump.

    2011: Fajoyomi had a season-best high jump of 7-0.25 (2.14m) in winning the competition at the USC-UCLA Dual Meet on May 1. Also won the long jump with a wind-aided PR leap of 24-4.50 (7.43m) and took second in the triple jump with a wind-aided leap of 50-1.75 (15.28m). He scored 13 of the 27 points available in the three jump events, more than the entire UCLA team in the events. Fajoyomi was named Pac-12 Male Field Athlete of the Week (April 25-May 1) for his efforts in the Dual Meet. Placed ninth in the HJ (6-11.00), seventh in the TJ (49-6.50) and 17th in the LJ (22-8.50) at the Pac-10s. Tied for 25th at the NCAA Preliminary Rounds in Oregon with a clearance of 6-7 and did not advance to championships. Had a wind-aided PR of 50-6.25 in the triple jump at the NCAA Preliminary Rounds, but that was only good for 17th and he did not advance.

    HIGH SCHOOL: Fajoyomi went to high school at Rákóczi Ferenc KSZKI in Hungary. He was the Hungarian Junior champion in the high jump in 2009 and 2010. Fajoyomi has a career best high jump of 7-1.5 (2.18m) on Dec. 6, 2010 in Budapest, Hungary. He placed 13th in the high jump at the World Juniors in Moncton, CN last year with a clearance of 7-0 (2.14m). Fajoyomi placed 11th at the 2009 European Junior Championships with a clearance of 6-9.5 (2.12m). Has a PR of 23-6.50 (7.18m) in the long jump.
