    Trojans open season this weekend at the Rossi Relays

    THIS YEAR: Sophomore Errin (pronounced "ERR-n") Baynes is a talented jumper who will help the Trojans in the high jump and long jump this season. He was injured much of his first season at USC.

    2013: Baynes saw limited action due to injury. Had a season-best high jump of 6-6.00 (1.98m) to place ninth at the Trojan Invitational on March 23.

    HIGH SCHOOL: Baynes graduated from Wheeling Park High in 2012. He won the West Virginia AAA high jump title his last three years of high school and the long jump title as a junior and senior. He helped lead his team to the 2011 AAA Region I Championship title with his victories in the men's high jump competition and the long jump. He set a PR of 7-0.25 in winning the high jump at the Mars Invitational in Mars, Pa. on April 29, 2011 which ranked second among U.S. high school jumpers in 2011. He tied for seventh in the high jump at the New Balance Outdoor Nationals in June of 2011 with a clearance of 6-8. Baynes has a long jump best of 22-3.50.

    PERSONAL: Errin was born on April 5, 1993 in Pittsbugh, Pa...his parents are Darryl and Linda Baynes and he has three siblings, Darryl, Jr., Justin and Shavonne...His hobbies include playing the piano, dancing, traveling and watching movies...Lists his favorite actor as Denzel Washington, favorite musician as J.Cole and favorite movie as Love and Basketball...Says Derrick Rose is his sports hero because he is hardworking and humble...Baynes' goals include competing at the 2016 Olympics, raising a family and having a job that he loves...Is undecided upon a major at USC.
