    USC Continues Winning Ways At The Start Of The Track Season

    Trojans win eight more events at Northridge Invitational

    THIS YEAR: Redshirt senior Eric Battles transfered to USC from Fresno State as a graduate student with one season of eligibility remaining. He was an All-Westen Athletic Conference runner in track and cross country.

    BEFORE USC: Battles graduated from Fresno State in 2012, but did not compete in 2012. Has a PR of 1:54.13 in the 800m set at the Bulldog Invitational on April 30, 2011. Set his 1500m PR of 3:50.50 at the Mt. SAC Relays on Apirl 15, 2011. Competed at the Trojan Invitational in both 2009 and 2010. He was an WAC All-Acamedic award winner.

    HIGH SCHOOL: Battles graduated from Clovis West High in Fresno, Calif in 2008. He was a four-year letterwinner in both cross country and track, earning All-Conference and all-Valley cross country honors and being named All-City by the Fresno Bee. Name the Clovis West Ahlete of the Year in 2008. Served as captain on both the XC and track teams. Had a best 5K time of 15:29 at the Stanford Invitational.

    PERSONAL: Eric was born on Nov. 21, 1989 in Fresno, Calif...his parents are Gary and Marian and he has one sister, Samantha...Has begun work on a Master's of Public Administration...Would like to work at a city or federal level in public safety, emergency management or a related field upon graduating...He is interested in disaster managemant, preparedness and response....He is involved iwth the Internaitonal City Management Association and the Homeland Security Student Organization....Charities he has worked with include the Holy Cross Medical Clinic in Fresno and the USC-Catholic Homeless Ministry....His favorite movie is Cool Runnings...Would like to travel to Spain some day.
