THIS YEAR: Redshirt junior Aaron Dan is expected to be a major contributor for the Trojans this season and should challenge the Trojans' all-time top 10 discus marks.
2008: His top throw in the discus as a redshirt sophomore was 183-11 on May 31 at the NCAA West Regional, good for eighth and one point in the team totals. Placed fifth at the Pac-10 Championships in the discus with a throw of 180-4. Took second in the discus at the Trojan Relays with a throw of 180-11 and at the Trojan Invitational with a throw of 177-9.
2007: Had a season-best throw of 189-6 (57.77m) in the discus at the Trojan Invitational on March 24 to place second. Won the discus competiton at the Pepsi Invitational in Eugene, Ore. on April 7 with a throw of 185-3. Fouled on two of his throws and finished 15th at the Pac-10 Championships held at Stanford from May 12-13. Came in 16th in the discus at the NCAA West Regional on May 25 in Eugene, Ore. with a throw of 174-9. Had a career best in the shot of 56-4 1/2 (17.18m) at the Trojan Relays on March 3.
2006: Redshirted during the 2006 season. HIGH SCHOOL: Dan prepped at Esperanza (Calif.) High where he finished second in California in the discus and third in the state in the shot put...Threw over 60 feet with a 12-pound shot and threw a 193.9 in the discus...He was a high school All-American in the discus and finished second in the state in the discus and third in the state in the shot in 2005.
PERSONAL: Aaron was born on Oct. 16, 1986 in Yorba Linda, Calif....his brother Ryan also is a Trojan...List his favorite musical artist as Shakira...He is a Real Estate Development major at USC.
