THIS YEAR: Senior Dalilah Muhammad is one of the premier 400m IH hurdlers in the country, earning All-America honors in the event two times. She ranks third on USC's top 10 list in the event.
2011: Earned All-America honors in the 400m IH by placing sixth at the NCAA Championships with a time of 57.88...she set a PR with a time of 56.04 in the semifinals, bettering her third-place standing on USC's all-time list. Advanced to the NCAAs by finishing 8th in the 400m IH at the NCAA Preliminary Rounds in Eugene, Ore. with a time of 57.93. Placed second in the 400m IH with a time of 56.80 at the Pac-10 Championships...also placed sixth as part of the 4x400m relay which had a time of 3:40.52. Took second in the 400m IH with a time of 56.98 at the USC-UCLA Dual Meet.
2010: Had a time of 57.85 in the 400m IH at the NCAA semifinals to finish ninth, just missing advancing to the finals. Advanced to the NCAAs out of the NCAA Preliminary Rounds in Austin, Texas with the top qualifying time of 57.16. Also advanced to the NCAAs as part of the 4x400m relay team which placed second in their heat with a season-best time of 3:33.22, just outside of the Trojans' top 10 list. The relay team did not advance to the finals as they posted a time of 3:39.90. Placed second in the 400m IH with a season-best time of 57.14 at the Pac-10 Championships. The relay team DQ'd at the Pac-10s. She won the 400m IH at the Dual Meet with a time of 56.70, but the times were not valid as UCLA had set up only nine hurdles. Also placed third in the 100m HH with a season-best time of 13.88.
2009: Earned All-American honors as a freshman in the 400m IH and as part of USC's 4x400m relay team. Placed third in the 400m IH at the NCAA Championships on June 12 with a time of 56.65 to become only the third Trojan female to score in the event. In the semifinals on June 11, she set a PR with a time of 56.49, improving her third-place standing on USC's all-time list. Ran the third leg on USC's 4x400m team which placed sixth at the NCAA Championships with a time of 3:32.51. They also had a qualifying time in the semifinals of 3:31.57 which was the sixth-fastest time in USC history. Took eighth place in the 100m HH at the Pac-10 Championships on May 17 with a wind-legal PR of 13.79 (ran a wind-aided 13.61 on May 16 in the semifinals at the Pac-10 Championships). Also tried her luck in the high jump and tied for ninth with a clearance at 5-7 (1.70m), the same height she had at the Dual Meet on May 2 to place third. Muhammad placed second in the 400m IH at the West Regional with a time of 57.44 and the third leg for the 4x400m relay team which took second with a time of 3:34.22.
HIGH SCHOOL: Muhammad attended Benjamin N. Cardozo HS in Bayside, N.Y. where she competed in everything from the 200m, 400m, 800m, relays, hurldes and high jumps...Won the New York state 400m IH title with a meet-record time of 57.81 as a senior...She was named the 2007 New York state Gatorade Female Athlete of the Year. She captured the 400m IH at the IAAF World Youth Games in the Czech Republic in 2007 with a time of 57.25...Her PR in the 400m IH is 57.09, set when she won the Nike Outdoor Nationals...Helped her high school win the sprint medley relay at the National Scholastic Indoor Championships with a time of 4:03.16 as she ran a 55-second 400m leg...Also has PRs in the 400m of 54.0 and the high jump of 5-9.
PERSONAL: Dalilah was born on Feb. 7, 1990 in Queens, New York...Lists her favorite actor as Will Smith, favorite movie as Uptown Girls and favorite musician as Beyonce...Is a Business major at USC.
