THIS YEAR: Senior John Carley enters the season as one of USC's top threats in the distance races, posting the best 3000m and 5000m times by a Trojan last season.
2010: Continued to make improvements posting PRs in the 1500m (3:53.27), 3000m (8:36.93) and 5000m (14:51.91). Had a time of 15:25.29 in the 5000m to place sixth at the USC-UCLA Dual Meet on May 1. 2009: Set a then-PR in the 3000m race of 8:44.13 at the Rossi Relays on Feb. 28. Posted a then-PR in the 5000m race with a time of 15:09.32 on March 28. 2008: Had a season-best time in the 1500m race with a time of 4:06.89 at the Long Beach Invitational on April 8.
HIGH SCHOOL: Carley attended Jesuit High in Portland, Ore...Was voted the most improved runner on his high school team...Ran a 26.56 8K.
PERSONAL: John was born on May 30, 1989...Likes to snowboard, read and play video games in his spare time...His favorite actor is Al Pacino and favorite movie is Scarface...Is a History major at USC...Was named to the 2009 Pac-10 Track and Field All-Academic first team.
