THIS YEAR: Senior Tony Burnett is coming off a strong sophomore season for USC in the long jump and triple jump. He played significant minutes for the USC football team last fall playing cornerback and on special teams.
2011: Had a season best of 22-7.25 (6.89m) in the long jump and set a PR with a triple jump of 49-9.00 (15.16m) to win the Trojan Tri-Meet on April 2 after a full practice with the football team. He also won the triple jump at the Trojan Invitational on March 19 with a jump of 49-0.75 (14.95m). Placed 12th at the Pac-10 Championships in the TJ with a leap of 47-10 and 23rd in the long jump at 16-8 as his ankle was hurting. Placed 40th at the NCAA Preliminary Rounds with a TJ of 47-6.25.
2010: Just missed out on scoring at the Pac-10 Championships, placing ninth in both the long jump (22-9.25) and triple jump (47-7.75). Also ran in the 100m dash and placed 27th with a time of 11.14. Set personal bests during the season of 23-3.25 (7.09m) in the long jump on March 6 and 49-0.25 (14.94m) in the triple jump on March 20. Placed fifth in both the long jump (22-6.50) and the triple jump (47-1.75) at the USC-UCLA Dual Meet on May 1.
BEFORE USC: Attended L.A. Southwest College for the 2009 season.
HIGH SCHOOL: Burnett attended Mayfair HS in Bellflower, Calif...Was All-CIF, All-State, All-Conference and selected to the Dream Team first team.
PERSONAL: Burnett was born on June 29, 1990 in Watts. Calif...Loves to eat...His favorite actor is Denzel Washington, favorite musician is Lil Wayne and favorite movie is Man on Fire...Is a Human Performance major at USC.
