THIS YEAR: Redshirt junior distance runner Bryan Jordan transferred to USC from California before last season and was one of USC's top distance runners.
Jordan had a strong first season of running track for USC, posting the top 1500m time on the team with a PR of 3:50.87 at the Mt. SAC Relays on April 18. He also posted the second-fastest 800m time on the team of 1:55.98 in placing sixth at the Trojan Invitational on March 22. Jordan was a workhorse at the USC-UCLA Dual Meet on May 4, being called upon to run the 1500m, 3000m steeplechase and 5000m races...in his first steeplechase ever he ran 9:50.85 to place sixth.
BEFORE USC: Competed in cross country in 2011 and 2012 for California. He earned a varsity letter in indoor track at California, running the 1200m leg of Cal's DMR at the 2012 MPSF Indoor Track & Field Championships in Seattle, Wash.
HIGH SCHOOL: Jordan attended Galena High. He claimed the Nevada state crown in the 3200m (9:21.17) and was second in the 1600m (4:11.34). He broke the 1982 Nevada state record in the 1600m. As a junior, took second in the Northern Regional final in the 1600 (4:20.45) and was a Nike Cross Country Nationals finalist. Finished his high school career as a three-time regional champion, including cross country ... helped the squad to the 2007 Nevada state title. He served as team captain in 2008.
PERSONAL: Bryan was born on December 14, 1992 in Visalia, Calif...His parents are Michael and Cheryl and he has two brothers, Nathan and Evan...His hobbies include music, hiking, photography and travel...His favorite musician is Katy Perry...Would like to visit New Zealand...Hopes to pursue artist management someday...He is a Music Industry major and a Business Law minor at USC and earned a place on the Thorton School of Music Dean's list last year.
