    THIS SEASON: Redshirt freshman Tara Blanchard begins her second season as part of the USC track and field team, after missing the 2011 season due to injury.

    2011: Redshirted with a foot injury. Was forced to miss both the cross country and track and field seasons due to the injury.

    HIGH SCHOOL: Blanchard is a 2010 graduate of La Reina High in Thousand, Calif....Helped lead La Reina to the 2008 Section and State Division IV Cross Country Championships...Placed 66th at the 5K Nike Pre-Nationals with a time of 20:13.90...Injured her ankle in cross country in 2009 and missed the track and field season...Ran a 2:11.88 PR in the 800m in 2008 which was the top female time in Ventura County that year and fourth all-time...She has a best 1600m time of 5:06...Holds six individual La Reina track and field records...Named the Tri Valley League MVP and was the Ventura Country 400m and 800m champion...Was a National Honor Society member.

    PERSONAL: Tara was born on February 7, 1992 in Los Angeles....Ran in the AAU Junior Olympics in Orlando, Fla. as an eight year old...At the 2004 National Junior Olympics in Eugene, Ore., Blanchard was runner up in the midget girls 1500m race and fourth in the 800m race....Is a Human Performance major and Performing Arts minor...Says her favorite musician is Taylor Swift....Lists her favorite athletes as sisters Sasha Blanchard a hurdler at Notre Dame and Brianna Blanchard an All-American and professional triathlete...Her hobbies include outdoor and beach activities as well as owning a horse.
