When the month of November rolls around, it means the changing of the seasons and the start of basketball at USC. As you know, basketball is one of my favorite sports and I'm excited about having two excellent coaches to lead our programs.
Tim Floyd is starting his first season at Troy and has already created a buzz for the program. I have not seen him around much because he hit the recruiting trail after I hired him and his hard work has paid immediate dividends. Mark Trakh did a tremendous job with the women's program last year as the Women of Troy made their first NCAA Tournament appearance in eight seasons. His team nearly beat a Michigan State squad that played for the national championship. I was very proud of what the women did during the season, especially doing so in the manner that best shows the qualities we like to teach at USC.
I know USC basketball and volleyball fans understand our future. In less than a year, the new Galen Center will open and the dream of an on-campus arena will finally be realized. You can see how quickly construction is going on the project. On that note, I would like to urge everyone to get your seats for the Galen Center as soon as possible. We have already sold out many of our better seats at center court. As you can tell by the Galen Center section at usctrojans.com, this will be a beautiful arena for our fans. I would not want you to miss out on a chance to get great seats to watch four great USC teams.
As you can tell, we have increased our All-Access library at usctrojans.com. If you can't make it to a home game, you can go online and watch the webcast of many events live or go back in the archives. We have started to add some football games from the past, including the historic USC-Notre Dame football game from 1974. As always, you can see the latest MattReggieTV episodes, along with Pete Carroll's weekly press conferences.
Fight On!
