Lauren Williams of the women's volleyball team and Jordan Thompson of the men's water polo team were named the USC Credit Union Student-Athletes of the Week today (Nov. 16) for the week of Nov. 9-15.

The sophomore middle blocker Williams helped lead USC to home wins over No. 4 Washington and No. 25 Washington State by registering 33 kills, 11 blocks and hitting .463 in the two matches. In the 3-2 win over the Huskies, Williams had 14 kills, eight blocks and hit .364. In the 3-1 victory over the Cougars, she had a career-best 19 kills without an error and hit .559.

The senior two-meter man Thompson ripped in a career-high four goals for the Trojans in a 13-12 overtime win vs. No. 3 Stanford. In addition to his team-high scoring total, Thompson earned five ejections for USC in the game, which saw two undefeated MPSF teams face off for the first time since the 2008 NCAA Championship game. Thompson scored twice in the second period and twice in the fourth to help USC into overtime on the way to the 13-12 USC final victory. USC entered the game with a 37-game home winning streak and four straight undefeated home seasons on the line, but the win over Stanford kept that streak intact and built up USC's winning run at home to 38.
