    Falyn Fonoimoana of the women's volleyball team and Donte Smith of the men's basketball team were named USC Credit Union Student-Athletes of the Week today (Dec. 13) for the week of Dec. 6-12.

    Falyn Fonoimoana: Women's Volleyball Freshman outside hitter Falyn Fonoimoana had a season-high 25 kills as the No. 6-seeded USC Women of Troy defeated the No. 3-seeded Stanford Cardinal in five sets Saturday (20-25, 25-17, 22-25, 26-24, 16-14) to win the NCAA Dayton Regional final. USC advances to the 2010 NCAA Final Four to be held this weekend at the Sprint Center in Kansas City to face Cal. Fonoimoana, the reigning 2010 Pac-10 Conference Freshman of the Year, was named most valuable player for the Dayton Regional after adding a season-high 14 digs and four blocks. She finished with 33 kills and 20 digs in two matches during the regional.

    Donte Smith: Men's Basketball - Donte Smith scored a career-high 22 points, including 14 in a row in the second half, to give Southern California a 60-52 win over Northern Arizona on Saturday. Smith caught fire with his scoring burst that extended USC's lead to 54-40 with 5 1/2 minutes to play. He opened with a 3, then stole the ball and raced in for a fastbreak layup before hitting three consecutive 3-pointers. His five 3s in the game were a career-high.
