    Briana Gilbreath of the women's basketball team and Shea Buckner of the men's water polo team were named USC's Wells Fargo Student-Athletes of the Week today (Dec. 1) for the week of Nov. 24-30.

    The freshman guard Gilbreath combined to score 32 points in USC's wins over Pepperdine (69-55) and UC Santa Barbara (62-53). Against the Waves, Gilbreath had 14 points and four rebounds and in the comeback win vs. UC Santa Barbara, she had a game-high 18 points and four rebounds.

    The junior Buckner scored four goals in USC's three wins en route to the 2008 MPSF title, including the buzzer-beating game-winner vs. Pepperdine in the finals for the 3-2 victory. He also scored one goal in the 9-5 semi-finals win over UCLA and two in the 8-6 first-round victory over UC Irvine.
