    Alex Jupiter of the women's volleyball team, as well as Matt Barkley and Robert Woods of the football team were named USC Credit Union Student-Athletes of the Week today (Oct. 4) for the week of Sept. 26 - Oct. 2.

    Alex Jupiter: Women's Volleyball:
    Senior All-America outside hitter Alex Jupiter had 14 kills with nine digs and two solo blocks Friday while hitting .344 as the Trojans swept the Colorado Buffaloes (25-21, 25-21, 25-18). Jupiter followed up with 15 kills while hitting .407 (15-4-27) as the No. 5 USC Women of Troy won their sixth consecutive match Sunday with a 3-0 sweep at the Utah Utes (25-13, 25-14, 25-19). USC remains in a first-place tie with UCLA atop the Pac-12 Conference standings with a 6-1 mark, 11-3 overall.

    Matt Barkley: Football:
    Matt Barkley was named the Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week, as well as the College Performance Awards National Performer of the Week and Quarterback of the Week. In USC's 48-41 win over the Wildcats, he completed 82.1% of his passes (32-of-39) for a USC game record 468 yards with 4 TDs and 1 interception, and he also ran for a short score. He was 22-of-26 for 301 yards with 3 TDs in the first half. His 470 yards of total offense also was a school game record. Both records he broke belonged to Heisman Trophy winner Carson Palmer. On USC's second play of the game, he threw a career-long 82-yard scoring catch-and-run pass to wide receiver Robert Woods (it was the longest USC pass since Palmer's 93-yard TD pass to Kareem Kelly in 2001).

    Robert Woods made 14 catches for 255 yards and touchdowns Saturday against Arizona. Woods is having the most prolific season by a receiver in USC's long history through five games, starting off this chapter with an 82-yard score on the Trojans' second play. The speedy sophomore, who set the USC mark with 17 catches in that season-opening win over Minnesota, fell 5 yards short of R. Jay Soward's 260-yard school record when Arizona held him to one catch for 2 yards in the fourth quarter.
