Brittany Kerridge of the soccer team and Robert Woods of the football team were named USC Credit Union Student-Athletes of the Week today (Sept. 6) for the week of August 30-September 4.

Brittany Kerridge: Soccer: Senior midfielder Brittany Kerridge led the offensive charge once again for the Trojans, finishing with two crucial assists and adding a goal of her own in a winning road trip for USC. Kerridge assisted on the game-winning goal on a visit to No. 17 Illinois, then drilled a penalty kick that gave USC some breathing room in a 3-1 win that snapped the Illini's four-game winning streak and captured an important upset win for USC. Two days later in the conclusion of the Illini/Boilermaker Cup, Kerridge dished out another assist - her fourth of the season and second of the weekend - on USC's equalizer at Purdue to give the Trojans life for an eventual overtime victory. Kerridge leads USC in goals (3) and assists (4) with her productive road weekend. She also was named to the All-Tournament Team for her efforts vs. Illinois and Purdue. The wins also turned the tide on a tough start to the season for USC, which has now claimed three straight wins to hold a 3-3 overall record.

Robert Woods: Football: In USC's season-opening home win over Minnesota, the sophomore Woods caught 17 passes for 177 yards and three TDs. The 17 receptions broke Johnnie Morton's school single game mark of 15 (set in 1993). It was the second-most receptions in a game by a Pac-12 receiver (2 shy of the record). Woods hauled in three touchdowns (7, 43 and 2 yards, all in the first half) to tie a school game record. He also returned three kickoffs for 73 yards. He had 11 grabs for 115 yards in the first half. Woods was named Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week and College Football Performance Awards National Wide Receiver of the Week for his record-setting performance.
