    Mark Sanchez and Alex Jupiter were named the USC Wells Fargo Student-Athletes of the Week today (Sept. 2) for the week of Aug. 25-31.

    The redshirt junior quarterback Sanchez led USC to a convincing 52-7 season-opening win at Virginia by throwing three touchdowns. He was 26-for-35 for 338 yards on the day.

    Jupiter, a freshman outside hitter on the women's volleyball team, shined for the Trojans with 29 kills and 13 digs in her first two collegiate matches. She registered 17 kills vs. Texas and 12 vs. Nebraska in USC's two losses to ranked teams at the Runza/AVCA tournament. Jupiter was named to the Runza/AVCA all-tournament team.
