USCTrojans.com To Undergo Maintenance Beginning Friday

    July 1, 2010

Since we opened our doors in 1996, we've prided ourselves on creating, developing and maintaining the most stable technical infrastructure in the Official Athletic Website business. Over the coming holiday weekend, we will be moving our core infrastructure to a data center in Los Angeles that ranks as one of the most prominent technology facilities in the Western U.S. As a result of this move, we will see a significant expansion of our core infrastructure environment and our network connectivity. This move will enable us to better serve our partner, USC Athletics, and its constituents.

Because this is a significant undertaking, we have chosen the quietest period of the calendar year to make this move.

The effort will begin this Friday morning, July 2, at 12:01 a.m. PT/3:01 a.m. ET. We expect the move to be completed within 24-36 hours - however, it may carry into Sunday, July 4. Throughout the move, USCTrojans.com will remain visible to the world, but there will be a few components of the site that will be unavailable or will not function. Access to core content such as headlines, schedules, bios, rosters and photos will not be interrupted.

Additionally, USC Athletics personnel will be unable to post new content to USCTrojans.com during this move. However, USC has arranged for real estate on Twitter and Facebook as a means for posting any breaking news that may develop during this down time. There may not be any news, but if there is, you can access it here:

    Facebook

We thank you in advance for your understanding and patience, and wish everyone a fun and safe holiday weekend.

    Sincerely,

    Ed Spiker
