    Manjula Wijesekara and Joey Hughes were named the USC Credit Union Student-Athletes of the Week today (June 14) for the week of June 7-13.

    The redshirt senior Wijesekara placed second in the men's high jump to earn All-America honors at the 2010 NCAA Championships with a clearance of 7-3.75 (2.23m). He passed on the first three heights, cleared the fourth (7-0.25) on his first attempt, passed on the fifth (7-1.50) and then made the sixth (7-2.50) on his first attempt. Wijesekara had his first miss at 7-3.75, but made it on his second attempt. He then missed twice at 7-5 and once at 7-6 to finish as the runner up. Wijesekara was the 2010 Pac-10 high jump champion and placed third at the 2009 NCAA Championships.

    The sophomore Hughes placed third in the 400m dash at the NCAA Championships with a time of 45.23, .02 out of second place. He used a strong final 100 meters to move all the way up from seventh place. Hughes also ran the third leg for USC's 4x400m relay team which finished fifth with a time of 3:04.54, making Hughes a two-time All-American.
