Salas And Oropesa Named USC Credit Union Student-Athletes Of The Week

The junior Salas helped lead USC's women's golf team to the NCAA Central Region title in Columbus, Ind. which concluded on May 8 by firing a 5-over 221 to place second in the individual competition. It was Salas' fifth top six finish this season. USC won by eight strokes to make it four regional titles in the last five seasons for the Women of Troy.
The sophomore first baseman Oropesa batted .500 (6-for-12) with two doubles, two home runs and nine RBI to lead USC to a win at UC Irvine and a home sweep of Utah. In helping USC to a perfect 4-0 week, Oropesa drove in at least two runs in each game, posted a 1.167 slugging percentage and a .611 onbase percentage. Oropesa leads USC with 13 home runs, 49 RBI, 18 doubles, seven stolen bases and a .353 batting average.
