Seniors Carol Rodriguez and Lionel Larry of the track and field team were named USC's Wells Fargo Student-Athletes of the Week today (May 5) for the week of April 28-May 4.

Rodriguez was a key reason USC defeated UCLA in the annual Dual Meet for the first time since the 1992 season. Rodriguez broke her USC and Puerto Rican national record in the 400m dash with a winning time of 51.39. She also led USC to victory in the 4x400m relay race and placed second in the 200m dash. The Trojans' 4x400m relay time of 3:31.85 was the sixth fastest ever recorded by a USC quartet.

Larry was a four-time winner at the USC-UCLA Dual Meet, taking first in the men's 200m and 400m dashes and anchoring the winning 4x100m and 4x400m relay teams. Larry's winning time of 45.04 in the 400m race was the fourth fastest in the world this season. His 200m time of 20.65 is the eighth fastest by a college runner this season, especially impressive since he hadn't run that race competitively for years.
