    Burnham, Robinson and Espar Represent the Women as USC Athletes of the Week, As Robinson and Morozov Represent the Men

    LOS ANGELES - The sand volleyball duo of Kirby Burnham and Stevi Robinson, along with Anni Espar of women's water polo earned USC Women's Athletes of the Week honors, as Timmy Robinson of men's baseball and Vladimir Morozov of men's swimming and diving represented the men as Athletes of the Week.

    USC WOMEN'S ATHLETES OF THE WEEK: Kirby Burnham and Stevi Robinson, Women's Sand Volleyball The duo finished second in the gold division of the USA Volleyball Beach Collegiate Challenge's pair championship this past Sunday. Burnham Robinson beat pairs from Long Beach State, Santa Clara, and Pepperdine but ultimately lost to Pepperdine's No. 1 team of Kim Hill and Lilla Frederick in a close match, 21-19, 21-18. Burnham and Robinson are USC's No. 1 pair and are 11-3 on the season.

    USC WOMEN'S ATHLETES OF THE WEEK: Anni Espar, Women's Water Polo USC freshman Anni Espar was a driving force for the Trojans in a key MPSF win over No. 4 rival UCLA. Espar scored three goals and had four assists in USC's road win, which secured second place for the Trojans in the MPSF standings and the No. 2 seed in the coming tournament. Her third goal of the game helped spark USC to a five-goal scoring run that broke open what had been a one-goal game. She also delivered assists on USC's final two goals of the game to secure an 11-6 victory and improve USC to 22-1 overall.

    USC MEN'S ATHLETES OF THE WEEK: Timmy Robinson, Men's Baseball Timmy Robinson extended his hit streak to 12 this week as the Trojans went 3-1, taking a midweek victory over Loyola Marymount and a Pac-12 series victory over Utah. The freshman went 6-for-17, batting .353 with one double and one triple. His biggest game of the week came at the most important time, in Sunday's 15-10 extra inning victory over Utah to win the series. Robinson went an impressive 3-for-6, scoring two runs and driving in five runs, including a single in the 10th inning with the bases loaded to drive in two eventual game-winning runs. He also scored the Trojans' 14th run of the game in the 10th on a Bobby Stahel double.

    USC MEN'S ATHLETES OF THE WEEK: Vladimir Morozov, Men's Swimming & Diving USC junior Vladimir Morozov won both the 50-meter and 100-meter freestyles as well as the 50-meter backstroke and the 50-meter breastroke during a dominant performance at the 2013 Russian National Championships in Kazan. He captured the 100m free title with a world's best this year of 47.93 and today won his fourth title by winning the 50m free in 21.81 after going 21.72 in prelims. The time of 21.72 is the third-fastest in the world this year. Morozov's stellar performance qualifies him for the 2013 FINA World Championships, set for July 28-Aug. 4 in Barcelona, Spain.
