Sarah Fansler of the women's tennis team and Matt Giles of the men's golf team were named USC's Wells Fargo Student-Athletes of the Week today (April 20) for the week of April 13-19.

The junior Fansler clinched USC's 5-2 win over UCLA on April 17 with a three-set victory at the No. 3 position to seal the Trojans' perfect Pac-10 season and first outright conference championship in women's tennis. Fansler teamed with Lyndsay Kinstler to breeze to an 8-2 win in doubles for the first point of the match.

Giles, a sophomore, helped lead USC to a second-place finish at the U.S. Intercollegiate held at Stanford in Palo Alto, Calif. on April 18-19. Giles and teammate Tim Sluiter tied for fourth individually with a three-day score of 202, 8-under par. Giles' second-round score of 63 was just one stroke off the USC record of 62 owned by Rory Hie.
