    Katinka Hosszu of the women's swimming team and Sean Dennis of the men's volleyball team were named USC's Wells Fargo Student-Athletes of the Week today (Feb. 17) for the week of Feb. 9-15.

    The freshman Hosszu won three races to help lead USC to a 160-140 victory over crosstown rival UCLA at McDonald's Swim Stadium on Feb. 13. The native of Hungary won the 200y free (1:46.73), 200y fly (1:57.43) and 500y free (4:48.29).

    Dennis, a sophomore opposite hitter, helped lead USC to road wins at Pacific and No. 8 Stanford by recording 26 kills and 19 digs. In the Pacific match, he had a match-high 13 kills while hitting .357 and added a match-best 11 digs. At Stanford, he had 13 kills (hitting .385), eight digs and a match-high five blocks. USC is off to its best MPSF start since 2001 and is one-half game out of first at 6-1. Dennis was also named MPSF Co-Player of the Week.
