Forel Davies of the women's water polo team and Nikola Vucevic of the men's basketball team were named the USC Credit Union Student-Athletes of the Week today (Feb. 8) for the week of Feb. 1-7.

The senior Forel Davies was a near-flawless opening sprinter and all-around power in the Trojans' run to a third-place finish at the Stanford Invitational. The utility player won all eight opening sprints in key matches against Stanford and UCLA, and also added a total of six goals in the tournament. Davies scored twice in a losing effort against top-ranked Stanford and had a hat trick against Michigan the next morning to get USC into the third-place game. Against UCLA in the third-place match, Davies had another goal to help USC to its largest win over the Bruins since 1999. Davies also is one of the Trojans' top defenders. USC improves to 4-1 overall after playing five games in four days this week.

The sophomore Vucevic posted back-to-back double-doubles in USC's home sweep of the Bay Area schools. In the 66-63 win vs. California on Feb. 4, he had 10 points and 10 rebounds and secured the win by making all four free throw attempts in the final nine seconds. In the 54-49 win vs. Stanford on Feb. 6, he scored 18 points and had 14 rebounds. Vucevic's tip-in with 21 seconds left gave USC a 50-49 lead and they went on to secure the victory at the free throw line.
