The Louis Galen Annual ARTLETICS Exhibition, an exhibition of artwork by 14 Trojan student-athletes in USC Roski School of Fine Arts classes, will be on display in the Galen Center's Hall of Fame from Feb. 17 to March 23. The free exhibit will be open during USC athletic events or by appointment.

An opening reception will be held at noon on Feb. 28.

The third annual exhibition, a collaborative effort of the USC Athletic Department and the USC Roski School of Fine Arts, showcases the artistic talents of Trojan student-athletes through works in painting, drawing, design, ceramics, film and digital photography.

Among the artists featured are members of USC's football, basketball, swimming, tennis, rowing, water polo and track and field teams.

The exhibiting athletes include Nate Anderson (track and field), Martin Coleman (football), Jacki Gemelos (basketball), Myeshia Gibson (track and field), Myra Hasson (track and field), Dina Hegazy (swimming), Robin Hextrum (rowing), Vanni Mangoni (swimming), Jason McNaughton (tennis), Kinga Mikolajczyk (rowing), Nicola Sardo (water polo), Jordan Thompson (water polo), Tanner Trowbridge (swimming) and Kyle Wootten (water polo).

This year, the exhibition was named in honor of USC alumnus Louis Galen, who graduated from the USC Law School in 1951 and passed away in 2007. Galen was a strong supporter of the USC Athletics Department and, along with his wife, Helene, initiated the Galen Ceramics Studio, the Galen Ceramics Lecture Series and the Helene V. Galen Intermedia Lab at the Roski School of Fine Arts.

The exhibition curator is USC Roski School of Fine Arts faculty member and ceramics department head Karen Koblitz (koblitz@usc.edu, 213-821-2891).
