Lindsey Munday Set To Play With US National Team This Weekend
Jan. 26, 2011 USC women's lacrosse head coach Lindsey Munday will resume her playing career at the Champion Challenge in Orlando, Florida January 29-30. The Champion Challenge, a showcase of men's and women's U.S. National teams and top college programs also features instructional clinics from some of the nation's top coaches. Munday, an All-World member of the U.S. Lacrosse women's national team who helped lead Northwestern to 5 NCAA championships as a player and assistant coach is regarded as one of the greatest players in Northwestern history. A National Team member since 2006, she was a member of the U.S. team that won the 2009 FIL World Cup, where she earned All-World recognition as an attacker after leading her team with 17 goals and 20 assists for 37 points in 7 games. Her U.S. women's senior team will face the University of Virginia on Saturday at 5p.m. (ET), followed by a game against the University of Maryland on Sunday at 11 a.m. (ET). Paired with the U.S. men's game against Notre Dame, Munday's contest against Maryland will air back-to-back on delay beginning at 10 p.m. Sunday January 30 on ESPNU. |
